NEW: Free Meals Starting Sept. 14
We are also pleased to announce that NVUSD will begin offering free meals to all children beginning Monday, September 14. Parents can pick up curbside meals at the regular Monday/Thursday schedule for any child in the household who is 18 years or younger.

Free/Reduced Lunch Program Means More than just Meals!
Has the COVID-19 health pandemic impacted your family’s finances? You may qualify for the national Free & Reduced Lunch Program which offers not only free student meals, but also discounts on Internet and WiFi services, free and reduced school testing such Advanced Placement exams and SAT exams, instrument rentals, and college application fees and more. More than 50% of NVUSD students do indeed qualify for this program -- but you must fill out an application to determine eligibility. The process is simple and requires only that families complete a confidential application through the Titan Portal to determine eligibility. If you are a current family on Free & Reduced Program, you need to reapply for this year in order to remain eligible.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Program
NVUSD also benefits from California’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Program which is a federally funded meal program that provides free breakfast and lunch for students in pre-certified schools. For the 2020-2021 school year, seven schools have met state thresholds which means all students in the following schools will receive free meals: Harvest, McPherson, Phillips, Shearer, Silverado, Snow and Valley Oak. Families in these schools do not have to submit the Free & Reduced Meal application.
